Choking Fake News’ Income

At least one company in the advertising industry things it has a solution. Moat is a company that provides visibility into billions of ads every day, and has proposed that it create a metric as to whether the sites that the ads are served to serve up fake news, and simply not pay any sites that are. It sounds simple, and really, is, although there’s always the question of determining what news is fake and what isn’t. But building a white list over time would definitely go a long way towards stopping its proliferation in the internet age, and cutting off the dollars would go even further.
